![]() There were some great post over this last year. I had some time on my hands in the last week, so I spent some time going back over all the posts for 2013 to fulfill my need for nostalgia! I know that most folks down that way were looking to this year as the one where they would get #7 but you have to live with the fact that Old Forge was better this time around…Buckle it up and go attack AA the way you have A. SCA has 6 titles and 13 trips to Hershey…don’t cheapen them with sour grapes crying.ĭ2 has gotten the better of the matchup 3 of the last 4 years…these things go in cycles. The cheap shot that put 44 out of the game in the 1st half was clear and the raking of the eyes of 42 to the point that there was blood running down his face was not exactly sportsmanlike….right up to the last play when 4 offered a hand up to your RB and had his hand shoved away. ![]() The fact that SCA could not score a point for 3 quarters is the obvious reason they lost.Īlso, your angels did not play too clean sir. It got called in the state champ game as well. Was the chop block call big? Yes it was…but that is a rule that the officials had stressed this year. So both teams got a gift on the fumble issue. SCA *also* had what SHOULD have been a fumble whistled dead early. I watched that game IN person AND on tape…both pass interference calls against OF that setup the SCA TDs were bogus. Is there any truth in the accusation from the SCA fans that Old Forge was just plain lucky?ĭecember 28th, 2013 at 3:23 have some mightly rose colored glasses my friend. but old forge was gifted this one and also i don’t know how many times i read about how proud old forge was because they kept the score with SC close in 2011. as far as crying, hear this dunmore, and riverside kicked our butts no excuses. What are your top HS Football memories of 2013?Ĭoncerning d2follower you are right there was another chop block call in the final, and old forge benefitted from that one also. A couple 4th down conversions,9? first downs, and ONE State Title! The Drive! An entire quarter, many 3rd down conversions, two of them long. And I saw 13 different solid teams with good final records play this season. I also saw Pennsbury give Neshaminy their only regular-season defeat. Happy New Year!!!!ĭecember 31st, 2013 at 8:17 – 2013 MemoriesĪlthough I have seen two state champions play in a single year five prior times, this is the first time I ever saw two state champions play each other when I took in St Joes Prep vs Archbishop Wood game at Tennent regular season. If it didn’t work I’m sure words other than gutsy would be used, but it did, and it was. However, that was a great football game, with an even greater ending. I was never a single A follower, and probably still won’t be. I think I’ll remember North Catholic going for 2, in overtime. ![]() Honestly went pretty much as I expected as far as D 12 went. Good topic Dave! I’m sure you guys expect me to talk about a D12 moment as a lasting memory for the year. Didn’t think they lose to Neshaminy at all, let alone that bad. They made it all the way to the D1 final. I figured them at 5 and 5 this year and missing the playoffs. ![]() Not many people gave Prep much of a chance against PCC, but they won rather handily. Who expected Imhotep to lose, and especially that bad? Wood once again proving 3A championships can be won between/off tackle and NO semblance of a passing game.Īctually, some of the most memorable moments was the last games of the year. Desire, disciplined assignment football erases the horror of the ’10 WC final. South Fayette ignoring the press clippings and chatter. Much to my misery, Prep getting the 5 year LaSalle noose off their neck and going the distance in their 1st State go-round…. Happy New Year Dave, Jive and all of you. Gotta be “The Drive”! I don’t think I have ever seen a drive like that at any level. Time to put 2013 football season to bed, and look forward to 2014 season. We just might re-hash this season until the beginning of next season.Īs of this post, we still have the Eagles to follow. Who’s lookin to be the teams to beat in D2 next year any thoughts? Never know who going to be sleeper of how kids will develop over the winter January 9th, 2014 at 9:00 sure about the W.V.C but in the LackawannaĪ should be Old Forge again but due to lack of competition at that levelĪA Been weak for the last couple of years going to be instersting with Dunmore and Riverside moving up.ĪAA Abington has a good core coming back Valley View has a ton of kids returning but no coaching North Pocono has a lot of speed coming back Δ 2,248 Responses to “2013 Football Season” ![]()
